Take time to pray right now. If your earthly father did a good job representing God the Father to you, then thank God and bless your father by letting him know how much you appreciate him. You may want to take time to write him a letter thanking him for the positive and loving influence he had upon your life. If your dad misrepresented God the Father to you take time in prayer to forgive him and release your disappointments, anger, bitterness, or even hatred toward him...then ask God to forgive you for harboring these things in your heart. Ask God to renew your mind with the truth so that you can enter into a close and loving relationship with Him.
Note: If your father has died, you can still write a letter to him and lift the letter up to Jesus letting go of all the things you wish you had said to your father, but never had the chance.
